Obituary for Doug Russell

Doug Russell, 56, passed away peacefully at his brother’s home in Calhoun City on Sunday, March 3, 2019. Born December 30, 1962 in Clarksdale, MS, he is the son of W.O. Russell and Shirley Russell of Calhoun City. Doug was a graduate of Greenville High School, and also from Mississippi Delta Community College in Moorhead, MS. Doug and his wife, Dora, were married on May 17, 1980. He was a caring and compassionate man who valued family greatly. He loved spending quality time with his grandchildren, for they were his world. In his free time, he loved to ride motorcycles, woodworking, and just good ‘ol smack talking. Doug was considered a “jack of all trades” but out of all of his accomplishments, the one that he was most proud of would be for restoring the cars in the Elvis Presley Museum in Memphis. Doug is responsible for all but two of the cars in the collection which is a true testament to his ability. Doug leaves behind a legacy of love for his family and friends to cherish forever. He will be missed dearly by all that knew and loved him.
