Obituary

James Dallas Wilson, 71, passed away peacefully at Baptist Hospital in Jackson on Saturday, March 30, 2019. Born October 28, 1947 in Montevista, he was the son of the late Ovis R. Wilson and the late Betty Slaughter Fleming. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, and was retired after working many years as a self-employed painter. A true outdoorsman, James loved to either be in the woods deer hunting, or fishing on the Tallahatchie River. He also spent a lot of time trapping. James was an avid fan of his Ole Miss Rebels. Football and baseball were his favorites, but he was red and blue all the way.
Above all, his greatest joy was his family, and he cherished the time spent with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him, but he has left a lifetime of memories that will live on until they meet again someday.
Pryor Funeral Home has the honor of serving the Wilson Family.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 2:00pm at Pryor Funeral Home in Calhoun City. There will also be visitation time with the family from 1:00pm until service time on Sunday. Bro. Jimmy Vance will be officiating.
He leaves behind his wife, Sharon Wilson of Kilmichael; daughters, Dawn (Andy) Leach of Kilmichael, and Jennifer Bailey of Batesville; son Eli (Alicia) Wilson of Hamburg, AR; sisters, Linda (M.C.) Little of Pearl, MS, Betty Fleming of Long Beach, MS, and Paula (Clay) Parten of Pass Christian, MS; grandchildren, Logan Harper of Kilmichael, Justin (Jessica) Harper of Pope, MS, Sonya Bailey of Batesville, Trevor Bailey of Marks, MS, and Natalie Wilson and Dillon Wilson, both of Hamburg, AR; great-grandchildren, D.C. Harper, James Harper, Savannah Harper, and Bo Harper.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ann Smith; and brother, Ned Ross Wilson.
