Obituary for Joseph Lee "Butch" Bounds

Joseph Lee “Butch” Bounds, 76, passed away in Big Creek on Saturday, April 20, 2019. Born July 19, 1942, in Coffeeville, MS, he was the son of the late Charles Bounds and the late Mary Sue Harrison Bounds. He was a 1960 graduate of Aberdeen High School, and proudly served in the United States Navy. Over the years, he drove a truck for Coca Cola Company in Greenwood, and Shaw’s Meat Market in Grenada. He was an avid fan of the MS State Bulldogs, and was always tuned in on game day. His favorite pass time was sitting on the creek bank fishing or riding the old country roads. His family and friends will always remember the stories he told about “The Good Ole Days.” Butch will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A funeral service celebrating his life will be held Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 11:00am at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Bro. Jim Vance will be officiating.
He leaves behind his niece, Lil (Randall) Gordon of Holcomb, MS, and great nieces, Kelley (Brandon) Smith of Grenada and Kasey Gordon of Holcomb.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Charleye Belle.
