Hernando, MS---Robert G. Wagoner, Jr, 79, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home in Hernando surrounded by his family on Sunday, May 12, 2019. Born April 5, 1940 in Memphis, he was the son of the late Robert G. Wagoner, Sr. and the late Anna Mae Hendrix Wagoner. Robert was a graduate of Whitehaven High School and was of the Baptist faith. On July 4, 1959, he married the love of his life, Mary Wagoner, and they have spent 60 wonderful years together. He was retired from the gaming industry where he worked in casino maintenance. Robert loved working with his hands, and was always building things. He was also an accomplished mechanic. Above all, he loved his family very much, especially his grands and great-grands. He also loved his dog, Buddy, which was also considered part of the family. Robert was a very kind and loving man who never judged anyone, living his life by the Golden Rule, “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” He will be deeply missed, but his memory will be cherished forever by all who knew him.
Pryor Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Wagoner family.
Family and friends of Robert will host a Memory of Life Gathering at his home on Friday, May 17, 2019.
He leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Mary Wagoner; two daughters, Rella (Terry) Arnold of Hernando and Jackie (Richard) Cobb of Como; two sisters, Ann (Ned) Scruggs of Nashville and Susie (Tim) Plaster of Ft. Cobb, OK;
grandchildren, Tara (Jerald) Johnson of Brownsville, TN, Anna (Sean) Reasons of Marion, AR, Brandon (Jane) Riles of Dyersburg, TN, Rachel (Steven) Ballentine of Medina, TN, Linsey (Dustin) Grant of Hernando, Nathan (Minnie) Cobb of Como, MS; great grandchildren, Sean Simpson, Shelby Wilson, Skyler Johnson, Presley Johnson, Cadon Riles, Kylie Ballentine, Brantly Cobb, Jaxon Cobb, Kaiden Cobb, Ryan Milam, Kelsey Brigman, Ellie Brigman, Luke Jenkins, and Annie Grant.
