Germantown, TN---Carolyn Hardin Park, 88, passed away peacefully at The Village of Germantown Tennessee on Tuesday, July 9, 2019. Born April 3, 1931, in Big Creek, she was the daughter of the late Robert Buford Hardin and the late Amanda Irmer Denley Hardin. Carolyn was a homemaker and was a member of Madison United Methodist Church. Born and raised in Big Creek, Carolyn attended Big Creek High School. On April 26, 1947, she married the love of her life, Malcolm “Bill” Park, and they were together for over 68 years until his passing in 2016.
Among her many hobbies were playing bridge and bingo. She also loved crocheting and making afghans for her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grands, especially attending the sports and activities they were involved in. A sweet soul and a very kind, loving woman, she will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Pryor Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Park family.
A graveside service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, July 12, 2019, at 11:00am at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Big Creek with Bro. Will Dowling officiating.
She leaves behind her daughter, Daphne (Patrick) Snipes of Memphis; sons, Mike (Angela) Park of Eads, TN, and Dudley (Laine) Park of Memphis; grandchildren, Rob (Ashley) Park of Memphis, Michael (Charlotte) Park of Tampa, FL, Katie (Cody) Hanford of Orlando, FL, Carter Park of Eads, TN, Christopher Moynihan of Perdido Key, FL, Madison Snipes of Memphis, and Patrick Snipes of Memphis; great-grandchildren, Remmy Hanford, Maxx Hanford, and Eliza Park; and a host of nieces and nephews.

My mother, Pat Hardin, was close friends with Carolyn from the time I was in high school (early 70's) to when Carolyn moved to Memphis to be closer to her children. They loved to play bridge, shop, and travel together. Carolyn was an anchor for Mom during my father's slow decline. She stepped up when Mom fell and broke her hip and we were all far away. When my sister Ruth died, she did everything possible to help Mom and the family. Mom will always treasure their happy memories and often talks about their adventures. When Billy was alive and my father George was in good health, they often went out as couples. Mother went to church at Madison Methodist once she moved....and Mom always liked to say that Carolyn and my dad (George Hardin) were probably cousins. Mother sends her love and condolences to Daphne, Mike and Dudley....and the families. Mom is now in San Antonio to be close to me, but she and Carolyn played a million hands of bridge. I think they talked every day in Mississippi. She was loved and will be missed. Barbara M. Hardin Perez (daughter)
