Big Creek---Ola Rae Smallwood McGee Flint, 89, slipped away peacefully to her Heavenly home on Sunday, August 4, 2019, from Baptist Nursing Home in Calhoun City. Born November 18, 1929, in Calhoun County, she was the daughter of the late James Elmer Smallwood and the late Effie Reynolds Smallwood. She attended Ellard High School, and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She enjoyed visiting her friends and family or sitting quietly for hours with her word search books. Ms. Ola took great pride in her appearance and made sure her hair was perfect before she went anywhere. Her family jokes that she wouldn’t let them roll down the windows in the car because it would mess her hair up. Ola was the care taker of her beloved family and took great pleasure in cooking and taking care of them. She will be remembered by her family for the love she had for Jesus, as well as a very devoted, caring, loving and kindhearted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
