Leslie Wade Kimbrell, 85, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, October 8, 2019. Born February 4, 1934, in the Concord Community, he was the son of the late Les Kimbrell and the late Bessie Alexander Kimbrell. Mr. Wade was a graduate of Ellard High School, and was a very involved member of Vardaman First Baptist Church. He was retired from AT&T as a cable splicer after over 45 years of service. On October 2, 1959, he married the love of his life, Martha Sue Whitworth, and they enjoyed 58 wonderful years together until her passing in 2018. Mr. Wade served his country in the United States Army, where he was awarded the marksmanship badge of “Sharpshooter.” A man who truly loved the outdoors, Mr. Wade spent countless hours either hunting or fishing. His faith and his family guided his life. He loved the Lord and his family, and was known by everyone for his heart of gold and loyal friendship. God has now called him home, but his family finds comfort knowing he has been reunited with his loved ones who have gone on before him.
Pryor Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Kimbrell family.
A funeral service celebrating his life will be held Saturday, October 12, 2019, at 2:00pm at Pryor Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation on Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 12:00pm until service time at the funeral home. Rev. Jonathan Peeples will be officiating, with Rev. Jim Vance delivering the eulogy.
Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery with Military Honors.
Pallbearers will be Brennon Haynes, Terry Kimbrell, Michael Kimbrell, Jeff Kimbrell, Hayse James, and Alex James.
He leaves behind his son, Ronald Kimbrell and his wife Kim of Calhoun City; brother, Jack Kimbrell and his wife Curley of Coldwater, MS; grandchildren, Rhonda Kimbrell Burke, Jeffery Kimbrell, and Michael Kimbrell, all of Calhoun City; and great-grandchildren, Lucas Kimbrell, Gemma Kimbrell, Katelynn Burke, Kaleb Burke, and Elizabeth Spencer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Les and Bessie Kimbrell; his wife, Martha Sue Kimbrell; and a son, Richard Kimbrell.
