John Larry Taylor, 76, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. Born August 28, 1943, in Calhoun County, he was the son of the late John Tom Taylor and the late Lodie Moree Nichols Taylor. Larry was a 1961 graduate of Calhoun City High School, and furthered his education at East Mississippi Community College. He was also a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Grenada. In 1983, he married the former Tena Rouse, and they have enjoyed 36 wonderful years together. He was retired after many years with Calhoun Health Services as Ambassador. He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement. He had many hobbies and interests, including gardening, tinkering with his tractors and equipment, and flying RC airplanes, but riding his Goldwing was undoubtedly his passion. He and Ms. Tena loved to ride, taking trips at every opportunity. He was a member of the Goldwing Road Riders Association, and attended many shows and conventions. Larry was a jokester, and enjoyed pulling a good prank or two. He was a jack of all trades, and was always willing to help others in need. Above all, he cherished his family, especially his grands and great-grands. Larry was loved by his community, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
