Vardaman--On Sunday, January 5, 2020, at 12:05 in the afternoon, Jimmy Rex Hamilton, 67, was called to his heavenly home. Jimmy Rex was born March 30, 1952, in Calhoun City, MS to (late)James Harold Hamilton and Odeen Lyles Hamilton. Jimmy Rex was a member of New Providence Baptist Church. He was a man with strong family values. He leaves behind a path well paved with those values for his family to follow. Jimmy Rex attended Vardaman School. During his school years and after, he learned the trades of farming early in life from his daddy. In May of 1969, he married Janice Marshall Hamilton of Derma, MS. They have celebrated over fifty years of dedicated marriage. They began their family in 1970 with the birth of their first daughter, Kimberly, then their second daughter, Aimee, in 1973, and ended with their third daughter, Mandy, in 1975. Jimmy Rex continued to work those trades of farming through life until his health declined due to a stroke in 1998. Although, his activities in life were challenged by his health, he never once failed in showing strength to carry on. He was a devout husband, daddy, and granddaddy. He gave his life to loving, caring and providing for his family. If there has ever been a true love story- it was written and lived out by Jimmy Rex and Janice.

Jimmy Rex was preceded in death by his father, Harold Hamilton. He leaves behind his wife, Janice Marshall Hamilton- Vardaman; three daughters- Kimberly Kendall (Michael)-Vardaman; Aimee Hamilton-Vardaman; Mandy Moore (Chip) -Calhoun City; four grandchildren- Kyle Kendall (Allie)- Vardaman; Forrest Kendall (Marley)- Vardaman; Chipper Moore, Jack Moore- both of Calhoun City; great-grandchildren- Landon Love, Mallie Kate Kendall, Kane Kendall, Alla James Kendall- all of Vardaman; his mother- Odeen Hamilton- Calhoun City; two sisters- Lanelle Harrison (Carl Hugh) - Grenada; Jan Lucius (Mark) -Vardaman; one brother- Wade Hamilton (Regina)- Vardaman.

Jimmy Rex Hamilton just made Heaven a sweeter place for all of his loved ones to desire. That desire can only be filled by believing and walking with Jesus. As Jimmy Rex’s family did not say goodbye to him, they said, “We will see you soon, Daddy,” and their prayer for all of you is to one day see their daddy, too. (John 3:16)

Funeral services will be officiated by Bro. John Stewart, and will be held at New Providence Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, with visitation from 12:00-2:00pm, and funeral and burial services following immediately at 2:00pm. All services will be carried out by Pryor Funeral Home of Calhoun City.

Pallbearers- Michael Kendall, Chip Moore, Kyle Kendall, Forrest Kendall, Chipper Drake Moore, Jack Rivers Moore, Landon Love, and Kane Kendall.

So very sorry of your family’s lost. May good memories of Jimmy and the grace of our Lord Jesus give you peace, comfort and hope during these difficult days ahead. Jesus loves you everyone; Jimmy knew his Savior and Friend and that salvation can only be real by believing he was born of a virgin, died for us and rose again to redeem . . . plus nothing else. Romans 10:9-10. This is comforting and assurance to us all.
