Calhoun City---Betty Lou Brassfield Voyles, 85, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Baptist Nursing Home in Calhoun City. Born January 15, 1935, in Vardaman, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Brassfield and the late Bertha Lester Brassfield. Betty attended Dentontown School, and was a member of The Way of the Cross Church. She had a very big heart, and would give the shirt off her back if it would help someone in need. She loved to be gardening or cooking a huge meal. She also loved going to church, and spent many hours reading and studying her Bible. Above all, she loved her family very much, and cherished the time spent with all of them, especially her grandchildren.

Pryor Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Voyles family.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at 3:00pm at Pryor Funeral Home. There will also be visitation time on Tuesday from 2:00pm until service time at the funeral home. Bro. Robert Alexander and Bro. Mike Whitten will be officiating. Interment will follow at Clarkston Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Austin Bevill, Dustin Bevill, D.J. Bevill, Jamie Bevill, John Henry McDonald, Jason Melton, and Billy McNease.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Chris McDonald, Richard Boland, and Will McNease.

She leaves behind her daughters, Betty Jean Smith and Melissa (Richard) Boland, both of Calhoun City; and her grandchildren, Angie Inmon (Jackson), Linda Easley (Chris), Jennifer Bevill of Vardaman, Maria McDonald of Calhoun City, John Henry McDonald of Calhoun City, Bobby Hamblin of Guntown, and Leslie Jean Taylor of Shuqualak. She was also blessed with 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Otha Leo Voyles; daughter, Annie Lou Criddle; grandsons, Christopher Thomas McDonald, Jr. and Jackie Hamblin; and two sons, Otha Lee Voyles, Jr. and Willie Dean Voyles.
