Betty Sue Hardin Cannon, 84, passed away at Baptist Hospital in Calhoun City on Sunday, January 26, 2020. She was born on June 30, 1935, in Calhoun County, and was the daughter of the late Guy Gregg and the late Jessie Lucius Gregg. Ms. Sue graduated from Calhoun City High School and was a member of Derma Baptist Church. She retired from Calhoun Apparel in Calhoun City, and worked for many years at Kellwood Corp, making lifelong friends at each. She married Billy Hardin in 1954, and together, they had two sons, Johnny and Tony. They spent 28 years together until his passing in 1984. Ms. Sue later re-married. She and John Henry “Ace” Cannon were together for over 30 years until his passing in 2018.

Ms. Sue had many friends, but she and her sisters shared a tight bond. Seldom would you see one without the other two. She will be missed deeply by her family and friends; however, she has now been reunited with many of her loved ones in her Heavenly home, especially her beloved son, Tony, whom she lost a few years ago.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at 2:00 pm at Pryor Funeral Home. Prior to the service, there will be a visitation beginning at 12:00 pm. Brother John Warren will be officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Doug Bullard, Mark Lucius, Phil Lucius, Larry Lucius, Ricky Card, and Barry Cannon.
Honorary Pallbearers are Mike Lucius, Kemp Lucius, Carl Griffin, and Bill Tharpe.
She leaves behind her son, Johnny Hardin and his wife Pat of Russellville, Al; her grandson, John Tyler Hardin of Washington, DC, whom she loved dearly; her sisters, Doris Rogers and Sandra Gregg, both of Calhoun City; her niece, Lisa Bullard and her husband Doug of Calhoun City; special great-niece, Avery Bullard; and special family member, Alicia Beth Ferguson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Jessie Gregg; husband and father of her children, Billy Hardin; husband, Ace Cannon; son, Tony Hardin; and brother, Billy Joe Gregg.
