Frances Goodson Terry, 80, passed away at Methodist North Hospital in Memphis on Saturday, January 23, 2021. Born May 22, 1940, in Houston, MS, she was the daughter of the late Frank Lancaster and the late Mary Tuneberg Lancaster. She attended Bruce High School, and was retired after working as a CNA for many years with Calhoun County Nursing Homes. She was a member of Simonton Assembly of God in Mumford, TN. She was very involved with her church, and also served as the director of the Angel Food Ministry. Among her many hobbies were gardening, scrapbooking, and sewing. She also loved puzzles and word games, and had her TV on the “Gameshow Network” most of the time. Above all, she loved her family, and cherished the time spent with them, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends, but her memory will live on forever in their hearts.
Pryor Funeral Home has the honor of serving Frances’ family.
A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2021, at 12:00pm at Pryor Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation on Thursday from 11:00am until service time at the funeral home. There will also be a Graveside Service to follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Big Creek. Rev. Tim Glimp will be officiating.
Pallbearers will be Tony Goodson, Mathew Holliday, Cody Sutton, Brian Simpson, Justin Stafford, and Todd Stafford.
She leaves behind her daughters, Debbie Starnes (Bubba) of Drummonds, TN, Vicky Simpson (Brian) of Richmond, MO, and Connie Boozer of Calhoun City; son, Tony Wayne Goodson (Amanda) of Arlington, TN; grandchildren, Ashley Holliday (Mathew), Madison Sutton (Cody), Timothy Hudspeth, Michael Hudspeth (Scarlet), Candice Terry, Lisa Gail Taylor (Kurt), Cochese Criddle, Melissa Bumgart (Damon), Jessica Barefield (Hunter), Tyler Bynum, Amber Goodson, Trinity Goodson, Cooper Bynum, and Sean Goodson. She was also blessed with 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Paul Wayne Goodson and J.R. Terry; daughter, Lisa Goodson Bollinger; sisters, Lois Hughes, Monette Stafford, Nellie Edwards, Grace Quarles, and Jewel Rodgers; and brother, Elvis Lancaster.
