Obituary for "Radar" Dewey Orr

Dewey “Radar” Orr, 94, passed away at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Calhoun City on Monday, January 25, 2021. Born December 26, 1926, in Webster County, he was the son of the late John Orr and the late Alma Williams Orr. He was of Baptist faith, and was a former member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. He was retired after working many years with Rockwell International. On July 21, 1984, he married Ruby Conner Orr, and they have enjoyed over 36 years together. He loved to work in his yard and mow the grass. He could be described as a “workaholic” because he was always finding something to do. He loved when people came to visit, and the conversation would usually end up on politics. He grew up in an extremely large family. Radar was one of 16 kids, and he loved each and every one. Spending time with family meant the most to him, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids. He was blessed with a long life here on earth, but God has now called him Home, and he will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
Pryor Funeral Home is honored to serve the Orr family.
A funeral service celebrating his life will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021, at 2:00pm at Pryor Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation on Friday from 1:00pm until service time at the funeral home. Bro. Roger Reeder will be officiating, with interment to follow at Montevista Cemetery.
