Obituary

William E Brannon, 96, peacefully went to be with the Lord in his home on April 2, 2021. He was born July 30, 1924 to Hubert and Mattie Brannon of Grenada, MS. He attended Big Creek School, and later joined the Army in 1943. He was later wounded in France in 1944 and had an honorable discharge in 1946. He later re-joined the Army in 1947 and received an honorable discharge in 1948. In 1950 he married the love of his life Merle Bryant. They had two children Elizabeth Ann Brannon and William Bryant Brannon. He worked and retired from the Civil Service in 1974. He later attended seminary school where he graduated with a doctrine in Theology from the Southern Bible Institute and Seminary. He later became the associate pastor at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Senoia, GA. William Brannon loved the Lord, his family and his country. He was preceded in death by his parents Hubert and Mattie Brannon and daughter Elizabeth Ann Brannon. He is survived by his wife of 70 years Merle Brannon; son William Bryant Brannon; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Services were held in Senoia, GA, with a graveside service held at New Gauley Cemetery in Calhoun City, MS on April 7, 2021. Honorary pallbearers for the graveside service were Bryan Walsh, Levi Bryant, Brody Walsh, Kurtis Bryant, Madison Bryant, and Benton Bryant.
