Vardaman---Carol Parker Sutherland, 68, passed away at her home in Vardaman on Monday, March 27, 2023. Born January 9, 1955, in Bruce, she was the daughter of the late James Boyd Parker and the late Janie Sims Parker, and a 1973 graduate of Vardaman High School. She married Steve Sutherland on December 18, 1976, and they have spent 46 years together. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and watching science fiction movies, and loved doing arts and crafts. She loved mowing and working in her yard, usually listening to classic rock and drinking a Dr. Pepper. She also loved riding in the truck with Steve and going on long trips…sometimes.
Her sudden passing leaves a huge void in the lives of her family and friends, but her memory will be cherished forever in their hearts.

A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at 7:00pm at Pryor Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation on Thursday from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at the funeral home. Bro. Fred Hartley will be officiating.
She leaves behind her husband of 46 years, Steve Sutherland; daughter, Jamie Castleberry and her husband Taylor of Vardaman; aunt, Jeanette Mayhan; grandchildren, Savannah Williams and Georgia Williams; and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Boyd and Janie Parker; and brothers, Michael Lee Parker and Thomas Roy Parker.
